How can we help?

Answers to the common questions, or send us a message. Our AI helper usually replies in a minute or two, and Isaac, who makes GoSEQ, steps in for anything serious.

Common questions

Planning trips

How does GoSEQ work out when I should leave?

It starts from when you need to be there and works backwards: the walk from the stop, the bus (live, when TransLink has it), any change, and the walk to the stop at your walking pace. Home then shows one time, like Leave in 8 min, and counts down to it. Hurry! Leave now means you’re past the latest time you could leave at a normal pace.

How do I plan a trip?

Tap Where to? on Home and type a place, an address, a stop or a route number. You can also type it like a text: school by 8:30, city by 5pm tomorrow or from UQ to Roma St at 6. On Android you can tap the mic and say it.

What is Ask GoSEQ?

It understands trip requests written the way you’d say them (a place, and when you need to be there or leave). Most are worked out on your phone. Only if it can’t work one out is the sentence sent to an AI helper, along with the names of your saved places (not their addresses).

Why does GoSEQ tell me to leave earlier than I need to?

It leaves you spare time at the stop (5 minutes unless you change it), so a slow crossing or an early bus doesn’t cost you the bus. Change it in Me → Walking → Spare time at the stop: 3, 5 or 10 minutes.

The walking times don’t match how fast I walk

In Me → Walking, choose Learn and GoSEQ works out your real pace from trips you run in GoSEQ, or pick Relaxed, Average, Brisk or an exact pace. You can also set how far you’re happy to walk to a stop.

Where does GoSEQ work?

Every bus, train, ferry and the G:link across South East Queensland: Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan, Redlands, Moreton Bay, the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast, using TransLink’s open data.

Does it work without signal?

Yes. The timetable is stored on your phone, so trips still plan offline. Live times need a connection. When there isn’t one, GoSEQ says No connection — showing scheduled times.

It says the timetable needs updating

TransLink publishes new timetables regularly. GoSEQ picks them up by itself when you’re online. You can see how long the current one is valid in Me → About → Timetable. If it still says an update is needed, update GoSEQ from your app store.

How much does GoSEQ cost?

It’s free to download, with no ads. It’s coming to Google Play and the App Store in late 2026.

Reminders

How do leave reminders work?

Tap Remind me on a trip. GoSEQ counts you down before you need to leave: 15, 10, 5, 3, 2 and 1 minutes before, unless you change it. It follows the bus if it’s running late. On Android it’s one notification that updates. On iPhone each step is its own notification, grouped together.

For trips you’ve set a routine for, like School or Work, switch on Me → Reminders → Automatic leave reminders and you won’t need to tap anything.

I’m not getting reminders

GoSEQ’s notifications need to be switched on. If they’re off, the Me tab shows Notifications are off. Tap it to go straight to the setting.

Android: Settings → Apps → GoSEQ → Notifications. iPhone: Settings → GoSEQ → Notifications → Allow Notifications.

Do Not Disturb, Focus modes and some battery savers can also hold notifications back.

My reminder arrived a few minutes late

On Android 14 and later, apps need Alarms & reminders switched on to notify you on the minute. If it’s off, Me → Reminders shows Reminders may be a few minutes late. Tap it and turn the switch on.

Can I change when reminders come?

Yes, in Me → Reminders → When to remind me. Pick any of 30, 20, 15, 10, 5, 3, 2 and 1 minutes before, and When it’s time. To turn one reminder off, tap Reminder on on that trip.

Live buses & the map

Where do the live times come from?

From TransLink’s real-time feed, checked every few seconds while you’re looking. A time marked on time or 3 min late is live. Other times are from the timetable, usually because TransLink has no live reading for that bus yet.

It says “Live times unavailable — showing the timetable”

TransLink’s live feed isn’t answering right now, so GoSEQ shows scheduled times until it’s back. That’s on TransLink’s side, and it usually sorts itself out within minutes.

A bus was late, early or didn’t come

GoSEQ shows what TransLink reports, and occasionally a bus stops reporting or runs differently. Tell us the route, stop and time and we’ll check what GoSEQ showed. To complain about the service itself, contact TransLink on 13 12 30.

How do I save a stop?

On the Map, tap the stop, then tap the ★. It appears under My stops on Home. In Me → My stops you can show only buses going to one of your places.

What happens when I tap Start trip?

GoSEQ follows your actual bus. It walks you to the stop turn by turn, counts the stops, buzzes when it’s time to get off, handles any change, and walks you to the door. Tap I missed it and it finds the next way there. On Android, the trip also shows on your lock screen.

How do I share my trip with family?

Start the trip, then tap Share live trip. They get a link that shows your bus moving on a map and when you’ll arrive. They don’t need the app. Sharing needs a free GoSEQ account, and the link stops working when the trip ends (after 12 hours at most).

Places & routines

How do I set up School or Work?

Go to Me → Places, choose School or Work, add the address and choose Regularly. Set Be there by, the days, and (if you like) Head home after. School days follows TransLink’s school calendar, and Weekdays skips public holidays. Home then shows the right trip at the right time.

Can I save other places?

Yes. Me → Places → Add a place for Gran’s, footy training or a part-time job. Choose Now and then to keep it for whenever you need it, Regularly for a routine, or One day for a single trip.

How do I choose the bus I usually catch?

On Home, tap Choose your bus on the trip and pick your usual bus and a backup. Or tap Let GoSEQ choose for me. You can clear them in Me → Places.

My home is in the wrong spot

Go to Me → Places → Home, search your address again, then move the map until the pin sits on your front door. Walks start and end there, so the closer the better.

GoSEQ keeps picking a stop I don’t use

Tap the stop you prefer on the Map and choose Use from your place, or pick Board at another stop on any trip. You can see and undo these choices in Me → Places.

Your account

Do I need an account?

No, GoSEQ works fully without one. A free account (13 and over) keeps your places and settings on any phone, lets you share trips live, and shows your trip stats.

I forgot my password

Password reset by email isn’t available yet. For now, create a new account with the same details, or contact us and we’ll help.

My settings aren’t the same on my other phone

Sign in with the same account on both. Under your name in Me it says when it last synced. The newest change wins, and a phone signing in for the first time takes the account’s copy.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Me → your name → Delete account, then enter your password. Your account, synced settings, trip history and shared trips are deleted straight away. If you can’t get into the app, see goseq.app/delete-account or email info@eanddcollective.com.

How do I start fresh on this phone?

Me → About → Reset GoSEQ on this phone clears your places, stops, reminders and settings from this phone and signs you out. Your account, if you have one, isn’t deleted.

Can I use dark mode or change the colours?

Yes, in Me → Appearance: light, dark or match your phone, a colour theme or your own colour, and pure black for dark mode.

Privacy & safety

Does GoSEQ track my location?

No. Your location is used on your phone to plan from where you are, and is never stored or tracked. Only what a search or route needs is sent, rounded to about 10 metres for routes and about 1 km for searches. See goseq.app/privacy.

I feel unsafe on a bus, train or at a stop

In an emergency, call 000. On a service, tell the driver or station staff, or call TransLink on 13 12 30. If something about GoSEQ put you in a bad spot, contact us and choose Safety. Isaac, who makes GoSEQ, reads every safety report himself.

What happens to what I send to support?

We keep your email address, your messages and (from the app) the app version, phone type and settings that matter for support, never your location, to answer you. Our AI helper writes the first replies. Isaac steps in for anything serious. Tickets are deleted 12 months after they close.
